HELLO EVERYBODY!

ATTENTION TO ALL COUNCILLORS ON DUTY TOMORROW:

Please report at YCK Stadium at 1300 sharp in council tee and PE shorts. Yep, I do understand that all of us want to be in class tee, but for those on duty, it is COMPULSORY to be in council tee, so you may want to bring your other tee to change! And just a reminder, for tomorrow's curriculum time, school attire is still casual friday attire, which is half-u with PE shirt or class tee and council tee is not allowed, so yeah, PACK YOUR BAGS CORRECTLY.
PLEASE HYDRATE YOURSELVES AND PUT ON SUNTAN/BLOCK LOTION, don't want to see you guys all chaotah!
Duties are up in council room, so you may double check again tomorrow morning. If you are unsure of your job scope, please do clarify with me IMMEDIATELY because I need everybody to be on ready and alert tomorrow!

That's all from me, so for all those playing or running tomorrow,
JIAYOU AND BEST OF LUCK!

Love,
Running Taugay.

Sunday, May 24, 2009 8:33 PM

Councillors!
Please note that all of you will be down for duty for the DSA Open House tommorrow.

So tonight, I want all of you to stay happy and be cheerful as I need all your life to be out from 2-4pm tommorrow!

Take note once again that the people who are coming are the P6 pupils and their parents. Therefore, you must be fun and yet look prfessional. Image is very important. Address the parents or teachers first before you meet your babies. This shows that we are very polite people too:]

Anyway, have a good night's sleep today and play like you never did before with the little ones tommorrow! More details will be given out again in the morning.

LOVE<3
Cherlyn

Miss Shamilah's post
Wednesday, May 20, 2009 11:04 PM

Hello this is President speaking.
I just received an email from Miss Shamilah, and she wants this to be shared to every Councillor.
Here goes:

Dear Councillors,

It is not simply about chalking up number of hours doing council-related work and duty or ticking off checklist. All the activities, events and trainings that are scheduled for councillors are intended to be precious opportunities for each and every one of you to learn something, albeit however small or large, through the process. The results that you face are recognition but the true value comes in the learning through the entire process and experience.

It is time that each and every student councillor take time off and sit down for some personal reflection. Why are you a student councillor? If the answer is to wear a badge or to gain that extra one point in the CCA record, then the advise is to step down. Badges can be made. It cost only $1.80. Points can be chalked up through CIP hours too. If you are looking at having the chance in your life, while you are still young and shielded by your youth to make a mistake, to learn something and be somebody contributive, then by all means, be a student councillor.

Remember, it is the process that is the gem. Not hording of positions, badges or plastering your name everywhere in every CCA, in every event, in every teacher's list. It is about being a person. It is about being You. In all that you do, always do it with a clear conscience and a clear heart. Do it because you want to. Do it to your best.

Regards and always in our thoughts,
The Council Teachers

Do take this seriously, and think it through yourselves.

Love,
Sylvia.

8:02 PM

Except for a few glitches here and there, plus a chaotic and delayed start, the heats and games yesterday and today respectively went very well!

Thus, Olivia and Xiuhui would like to thank all those who turned up to help today because we really appreciate it. It's commendable that all who promised to turn up did, and even those who had to leave early or did not promise to turn up stayed till the end and we're sincerely pleased with all your performances! Would especially love to thank all the I/Cs, sec 4s, push ball referees(cause I know how hard it was!), timekeepers, lane jundges and yeah, basically just EVERYBODY. You get what I mean:D
Of course, with the heats and preliminary games down, we'll all have to work hard for Sport's Carnvial itself next Friday so do keep yourself informed about all the updates!

Great job councillors, keep it up!:D

Love,
Running Taugay.

Greetings to councillors!
This message is proudly brought to you by Xiu Hui:

I'm glad to say that we're halfway through the Post-Exam Activities (PEA), so good job so far to all counciilors! Having said that, we're not FULLY done with PEAs yet, therefore...
Yes, the duty list for tomorrow's track heats events is up! Since the sec 4s have been helping out in the level games, only the sec2s and 3s are down on duty tomorrow but do feel free to come down to YCK stadium, to help or to cheer!
Not ALL the sec2s and 3s are on duty because we have limited duties at the moment, but yeah I won't say no to extra helping hands. I tried to put all non-participants on duty, but if it so happens you are taking part in the heats tomorrow, you can still double on duty, or ask a friend to cover for you. For those who cannot make it, just look for a replacement and inform me ASAP. JUST DON'T FLY MY AEROPLANE OKAY, MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S PEOPLE COVERING ALL DUTIES AT ANY ONE TIME. THANKS.

HELLO DEAREST COUNCILLORS. :D

First & foremost a bigbig THANKYOU to the people who've helped to create this blog! (: I've made minor changes to it and added in the Pledge & Cheer. And yes I'm super happy now that we have a new form of communication! The blog will serve as a platform for the dissemination of information, so councillors please do check it frequently for updates alright! (: And yes, remember to keep the tagboard aliveeeeeeeeeee! (:

Secondly, all our exams are officially over! I hope all of us will achieve good grades!
-crosses fingers and prays for all of us-
But now that exams are over, just a gentle reminder that Attire Check resumes this coming Monday, 18 May.
So see you at 7am sharp! :D

Oh yes, we've got an email now! (Yes, super cool :D)
So to those councillors who have something you'd want to let us know, you could always email here. The email is only accessible to the Excos, and content will be kept within if you request for it to be private. (:
Also, the student body's more than welcome to offer suggestions, give feedback or voice out their enquiries to the Anderson Student Council through this way too.
But please note that emails without a valid name & class written in it will not be entertained. (:

Alright now, some internal affairs!
For the benefit of those of you who missed the meeting on Friday 18/5/09,

1) Sports Carnival Duties
Monday: 7:40am - 9:40am
- Sec 1 Games Preliminary

Tuesday: 7:40am - 10:40am
- Sec 3 Games Preliminary

Tuesday: 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Wednesday: 3:00pm - 5:00pm
- Sec 2, 4, 5 Games Preliminary
- Assemble at Council room at 2:45pm.

Side note: Attire will be Council Tee/ PE attire unless you're playing for your class.
And, the teachers remind you to put on Suntan lotion and hydrate yourself! LOL!

2) Sec 3s & Sec1s interview
- Sec 3's Exco interview will be done next week by the Council teachers. It'll be a short one (app. 5min/person).
- Sec 1's first round of interview will be conducted by the Sec 4s this year as the Sec3s will be busy with their own interviews with the teachers. It'd be held next week as well.

3) Investiture
Sec 2s are to come up with a list of themes by this weekend and send them to Miss Shamilah for vetting and selection. The various I/Cs will then work based on the chosen theme and the completed proposal (ie. With specific information on the different aspects like decoration and souvenirs design etc) must be sent to Miss Shamilah by next Friday 25/05/09.

Sec2s I know it's not easy to churn out everything in the course of one week. But you all have to understand the urgency of the matter. Our investiture is coming up and preparations have already been held back due to examinations, so you guys are expected to work doubly triply hard for this period alright! Don't worry your senior mentors will be guiding you closely! Jiayou! (:

4) Anderson Leaders Forum (ALF)
Date: 3 July 2009
Time: 2:45pm - 6:00pm
